27th October – yet another very long pause – wish I had a life outside work :-) Big waves were promised today but a visit to Dee Why Point was fruitless so a flit down the beach to South Curlie yielded some nice shots.
21st April – another period of intense work, moving house and a trip to the UK meant no time for shooting but grabbed 45 mins in some biggish waves.
6th Jan – a very bright morning at North Narra which made shooting into the sun very difficult. Either over expose to get faces visible or you get lots of silhouette shots. Not great but a few nice shots
23rd December – silence for a while because of work pressures but a quick trip to North Narra paid off with some nice shots. Waves were a bit dirty but one or two of you did some good stuff in spite of that.
7th October – back from holiday and working in Malaysia – big waves promised. N Narra closed and deserted so a quick visit to DY where small numbers were out, most just aiming to stay upright!
15th September – sneaked an hour out in the afternoon so popped down to Dee Why. Waves OK but a bit messy. Was rewarded with some nice shots especially of some of the groms out there.
10th September – eventually got around to working through the Curlie shoot and, in spite of some low expectations, I found that I had taken some good shots and decided not to beat myself up so much!
9th September – a great morning at North Narra with a comp on. A busy Sunday filtering and processing almost two thousand shots – done and the album uploaded. Enjoy!!
Here at Shoot The Surf we reckon that across the beaches and waves of Sydney there are a fair number of surfers who never get to see how good they look when they are dropping onto a wave, when they are crouched in the barrel, when they kick back and carve a fan of spray into the air. Well, the time for that to change has arrived.
Shoot The Surf allows you to see yourself and your mates out on the waves doing your surfing stuff. Some of you will look great, the best on the waves on your day. Others will have a little way to go before you’ll be winning championships but, hey, you still cut a pretty fine figure on a board. Don’t be shy – have a look at the galleries, find yourself and let me know what you think.
