This site is new and, although I have done quite a bit of research on the other surf photographers around Sydney so have a rough idea of the (massive) range of prices people are asked to pay for photos, I haven’t really worked out how much I’d like to charge for mine.
So, I’m going to take an unusual approach to start with and just ask you to tell me how much you’d pay for the image itself, various printed versions of the image, a compilation of photos in a book or whatever we decide we can do with the photos you want.
I have access to some very high quality printers who won’t force me to crop the photos to pre-defined sizes, have a variety of papers we can print onto, frames we can use or, if you fancy going large, canvas prints (singles, tiles triptychs and others).
If loads of people start buying photos then I’ll get smarter about it all and put up price lists and integrate e-commerce options. The real issue with that is that the only e-commerce and print fulfilment site that integrates with the software I am using insists on printing its stuff in America so that makes shipping expensive and a pretty crap way of burning fuel. So I will use local Aussie suppliers to make sure we keep the business here.
Just pick the photos you want and email me. Let me know what you’d like, ask me for ideas, make me an offer – should be interesting to see how things go to start with but, hey, I’m just trying this out to see how it goes. If it’s popular then I’ll do some more stuff to it and if no bugger looks at it then I’ll just keep taking photos when I feel like it.
Thanks for visiting and don’t forget you can leave comments on my Facebook page.
